These terms cover how Smart Vintage Scan's AI appraisal service works, including its limits — please read the sections below before relying on a report for a real decision. This is a summary for users; it doesn't replace legal advice.
Smart Vintage Scan gives you an AI-generated identification and estimated value range for an item, based on the photos and details you provide. It is informational support for your own research — it is not a certified appraisal, and it is not performed or reviewed by a licensed appraiser, gemologist, or other certified specialist.
Accuracy depends on your photos and the details you enter — sharpness, lighting, whether hallmarks and maker's marks are legible, and how much of the item is shown. The AI may misidentify the material, maker, period, origin, or authenticity, particularly when marks are unclear, the item is rare or unusual, or key photos are missing. The confidence score and "Needs Expert" verdict reflect how well the photos support the result — they are not a guarantee. Smart Vintage Scan gives an AI-based attribution, not a professional appraisal. The AI can make mistakes — for valuable items, we recommend an independent expert review before you buy or sell.
You decide whether to buy, sell, insure, or otherwise act on an item — Smart Vintage Scan's report is one input, not a guarantee of authenticity, material, origin, or value. For anything where the cost of being wrong is significant to you, we recommend an in-person inspection by a qualified, independent expert in the relevant material or category before you commit.
Each analysis uses one credit. New accounts start with free trial credits; additional credits are purchased in packs and charged through Stripe at the price shown before you pay. Credits don't expire.
An analysis is a digital service that starts running as soon as you submit it, at your request — under EU consumer rules, requesting immediate performance of a digital service like this generally means the standard 14-day withdrawal right no longer applies once it has started. That said, if an analysis fails to run, produces no usable report because of a fault on our side, or you were charged in error, contact support and we'll refund the credit or the charge. We handle refund requests case by case and in good faith.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the details you submit and for keeping your account credentials secure. Don't use the service to submit content you don't have the right to share, or to attempt to extract or resell the underlying AI analysis at scale.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continuing to use Smart Vintage Scan after a change means you accept the update.
